Handmade and hand painted alabaster and resin chess pieces depicting the Egyptian population of Queen Cleopatra and the Roman people of emperor Caesar Augustus.

A feature that differentiates these chess pieces from most other depictions is that the king and the queen are represented seated on the throne. Both the King, Caesar Augustus with his unfailing laurel wreath, and the Queen. Even the horse joins the rider, which in this case does not ride. The pawn is squatted. The tower is depicted with a round structure like that of the Porta Palatina, which was the access to the Roman civilization of the time, home to the current city of Turin.

The chess pieces of the Egyptians are particularly detailed and characterized by Egyptian symbols. Queen Cleopatra of Egypt with the well-known headdress with the sacred uraeus, the serpent symbol of royalty and immortality that was represented on the headdresses of the Egyptian pharaohs. Also the bishop's and pawn's heads have the typical Egyptian geometric cut with diadem and snake. The tower piece shows the symbols of the sun, of the iris that can be seen on the Egyptian tombs and paintings found inside the tombs.

On which chess board would you like to see these two important populations who made history?
