Chess pieces in alabaster and resin manufactured and hand painted depicting the two last version of the Italian Fire Department.
The orange uniform is the one used in 90’s, the green-black one is the actual uniform.
We can appreciate the difference of the hardhat of the firefighters, that are different according with their rank and position: the king has the silver hardhat, as the executive director and the senior manager, the bishop has the red hardhat as the fire chiefs and forepersons. The pawns represents the fireman, the operative ones.
And the queen? of course is representing as Saint Barbara, the guardian of the Italian Fire Department, which is elected as patron saint because she is the protector of “people who are in unexpected life-threatening”.
