Chess pieces in alabaster and resin crafted and hand-painted in Tuscany.

This historical representation depicts the Spanish people in the conquest of South America, in particular the general Francisco Pizarro, founder of the current city of Lima of today's Peru, who conquered the Inca Empire.

With the characterization of this game the sculptor has really gone wild.

He portrayed King Inca Atahualpa in his most sumptuous clothes, as he presented himself in the presence of General Pizarro, as reported by sapere.it: "the appearance of the Inca provokes a mixture of amazement and terror in the Spaniards: Atahualpa, the son del Sole, presents itself in its most beautiful garments wrapped in a cape of vicuña, surrounded by a crown with a red fringe interweaved with gold flakes and some of the rarest plumage. His golden pectoral shines in the sun and in his hands he holds the sign of power: an ax-shaped scepter with a very long shaft".

In the tower one recognizes the typical architecture of the Inca people. General Pizarro of the conquering Spanish people, the King, has the scepter of the general and the garments, the bishop and pawn are characterized by the helmet of the conquistadores, and the tower has been represented as one of the two towers of the church of San Francisco in Cajamarca, built following the Spanish conquest as a sign of victory.

The horses of the two factions are also curious: depicted with "typical" animals of the Spanish and Inca population area.

You can also see the basics of each of the 32 chess, they are enriched with motifs reminiscent of the two populations.
